Hygge

The Danish word "hygge" (pronounced "hyk-geh") is a concept that is central to Danish culture. It refers to a sense of comfort, warmth, and coziness that creates a feeling of contentment and well-being.

Hygge can be experienced in many ways, whether it's through spending time with loved ones, enjoying a warm drink on a cold day, or simply lighting candles to create a cozy atmosphere.

It's about creating intimacy and enjoying the simple things in life.

It's a feeling of togetherness, of being surrounded by people you care about, and of feeling safe and secure.

It's about creating a sense of warmth and comfort, both physically and emotionally.

Hygge is often associated with the winter months but is experienced all year around. Many Danes consider it an essential part of their daily lives, a way to make life feel more meaningful and enjoyable.

About our Tiny House

Our sustainable tiny house, designed by one of the top female Danish architects, is a unique and innovative space that combines functionality, simplicity and minimalism with the object of showing a new way for sustainable leisure time.

The floor plan is designed to make optimal use of the space available, in order to have a minimum impact on our environment. After all, the most sustainable square meters are the ones we do not build.

The house’s foundation is built on a steel pile foundation, which means almost no CO2 is emitted in the foundational construction, as there is no concrete below the house. Steel is a highly recyclable material, and steel piles can be easily removed and reused or recycled at the end of our Tiny House’s life.

The installation of steel pile foundations generates very little waste, as the material is cut to size and bent to shape on-site, minimizing waste.

Inside, the house is designed with simplicity and minimalism in mind, featuring clean lines and natural materials such as wood, which gives the house a warm and cozy feeling, that is typical of the Hygge aesthetic.

The use of a panoramic façade and large windows bring in natural light and connects you with nature. The house is designed to be functional, with a well-equipped joinery kitchen, bathroom and sleeping areas, but also has a comfortable and inviting living space that can be used for entertaining or simply relaxing.
